Vigneshwaran S. A. is an Assistant Professor in the Sociology and Social Work Department at Christ University. He previously served as a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Social Work at the Central University of Tamil Nadu. He holds a Bachelors degree in Zoology from The American College, Madurai Kamaraj University, completed in 2006. He earned his Masters degree in Social Work (Medical & Psychiatry) from the same institution in 2009. Between 2009 and 2018, Vigneshwaran worked with the Shant Manas Trust as a Community Mental Health Social Worker and Clinical Services Coordinator. His role focused on mental health awareness and treatment in rural Tamil Nadu. He also guided students in placement training and skill development. His research interests include road safety, post-trauma care, and social interventions for mental illness. He explores early psychosis intervention, cultural perceptions of mental health, and the role of yoga in mental well-being. Vigneshwaran has published research articles in indexed journals and co-edited a book on disaster management in India. He has presented papers at national conferences and symposiums, showcasing his dedication to academia and social welfare.
